Ed Stanley, P.E.

Principal

Edward Stanley provides more than twenty years of knowledge and experience to our clients in the building industry, with a keen commitment to historic preservation. He has participated on design teams for a broad array of projects including adaptive reuse, preservation and restoration, new building design, facade investigations and rehabilitation.

Ed is a critic in the Yale Graduate School of Architecture, teaching in the Systems Integration studio, and he is an advisor to the Vlock Building Project.

He takes great satisfaction providing Probono expertise to Habitat for Humanity for various housing projects in Connecticut including multifamily housing in Bridgeport and Stamford.

Ed attained Bachelor of Science degrees from both Columbia University and Providence College and studied towards a Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering at Northeastern University.

Prior to founding Edward Stanley Engineers in 1996, his early career included stints first with Thornton Tomassetti in New York City and then with Robert Silman Associates, also of New York City.

Kyle Habiniak, P.E.

Project Manager

Kyle Habiniak directs design teams within our office and represents our firm on your project team. He provides our clients with expertise in the adaptive reuse of existing buildings, the design of new structures, the preservation/restoration of historic buildings, and investigations.  Kyle has participated on design teams for a broad spectrum of building types including institutional, multi-story housing, single family residential, educational, retail and office, and religious buildings.

He directs the information technology in our office.  He was previously on the New Haven Board of Directors for the ACE Mentor Program (www.ACEmentor.org) and was a mentor to students in the ACE program for over 10 years.

Kyle received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of New Haven. He joined Edward Stanley Engineers in 1999.

Derrick Bell, P.E.

Project Manager

Derrick Bell is a key member of our office core, offering your team more than 10 years of experience collaborating with architects and builders. Derrick directs projects within our office and is a primary contact for your design team.  He has participated on design teams for a variety of building types including institutional, multi-story housing, educational, commercial, and single-family residential projects.

Derrick received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Connecticut. He joined Edward Stanley Engineers in 2012.

Jose Alvarez

Structural Engineer

Jose arrived at ESE in 2021after four years of teaching in the Civil Engineering department at Quinnipiac University. Prior to that he achieved his Ph.D. with a concentration in structural engineering at University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  Jose participates on many of our project teams, collaborating with other members of our office and with our architectural clients.

Jarrett Doricchi

CAD Specialist

Jarrett Doricchi is one of our experts in REVIT and Autocad. He joined Edward Stanley Engineers in 2003 after completing a formal academic program in CAD. Jarrett  continues to train as REVIT and Autocad platforms evolve and increase in their usefullness. Jarrett is part creator of the promotional graphics that our office distributes to those on our mailing list. He is instrumental in maintaining our website and in producing our powerpoint presentations. Jarrett is likely one of the voices that greet you on the telephone when you call us.
