Ed Stanley


Edward Stanley provides more than twenty years of knowledge and experience to our clients in the building industry, with a keen commitment to historic preservation. He has participated on design teams for a broad array of projects including adaptive reuse, preservation and restoration, new building design, facade investigations and rehabilitation.

Ed is a critic in the Yale Graduate School of Architecture, teaching in the Systems Integration studio, and he is an advisor to the Vlock Building Project.

He takes great satisfaction providing Probono expertise to Habitat for Humanity for various housing projects in Connecticut including multifamily housing in Bridgeport and Stamford.

Ed attained Bachelor of Science degrees from both Columbia University and Providence College and studied towards a Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering at Northeastern University.

Prior to founding Edward Stanley Engineers in 1996, his early career included stints first with Thornton Tomassetti in New York City and then with Robert Silman Associates, also of New York City.

Kyle Habiniak

Project Manager

Kyle Habiniak directs design teams within our office and represents our firm on your project team. He provides our clients with expertise in the adaptive reuse of existing buildings, the design of new structures, the preservation/restoration of historic buildings, and investigations.

Kyle has participated on design teams for a broad spectrum of building types including institutional, single family residential, retail and office, religious buildings, entertainment, and hotel buildings.

He offers to your design team knowledge of numerous structural systems including wood framed building design, heavy timber design, concrete, including precast concrete, structural steel, masonry, glass, and tensioned fabric structures.

Kyle enjoys consulting on probono projects, and on project teams focused on the reuse or preservation of both existing and historical structures. He directs the computer system in our office. He is an advisor to the Vlock Building Project in the Yale University School of Architecture. He is on the New Haven Board of Directors for the ACE Mentor Program ( and has been a mentor to students in the ACE program for 10 years.

Kyle joined Edward Stanley Engineers in 1999 while completing his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of New Haven. He is a licensed Professional Engineer.

Just a few of the projects he has managed include the Stepping Stones Museum tensioned fabric roof structure in Norwalk, CT; Firehouse 12 in New Haven, the Center Building in the Norwalk District 95-7 development; and numerous complex single family residences.

Derrick Bell

Structural Engineer

Derrick Bell participates on many of our project teams, working closely with our project managers and collaborating with other consultants.  He has participated on design teams for a variety of building types including institutional and single family residential projects.  Derrick received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Connecticut.  He joined Edward Stanley Engineers in 2012.

Jarrett Doricchi

CAD Specialist

Jarrett Doricchi is one of our experts in REVIT and Autocad. He joined Edward Stanley Engineers in 2003 after completing a formal academic program in CAD. Jarrett  continues to train as REVIT and Autocad platforms evolve and increase in their usefullness. Jarrett is part creator of the promotional graphics that our office distributes to those on our mailing list. He is instrumental in maintaining our website and in producing our powerpoint presentations. Jarrett is likely one of the voices that greet you on the telephone when you call us.

Patrick Bussett

Structural Engineer

Patrick Bussett received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 2016.  He began working at Edward Stanley Engineers shortly after graduation and has since contributed as a part of the design team for numerous projects alongside our project managers, and in collaboration with our architecrural clients
